Disappointing

First off, I am a big fan of Dolores Cannon's work and I have read many metaphysical books. There are many great concepts worth understanding and sharing. I was hoping this book would serve as a good reference for helping family members, but it just falls short.

This book is bare bones. It is basically structured like this:
Symptom: (Example pulled straight from book.) "Sore Throat"
Meaning: "You have angry words that need to be said, but you are holding back and it is irritating the throat."
THAT IS IT...

That's all you get for sore throat. Other than the occasional exception, there is a complete lack of depth. There are little to no suggestions for how to work through these issues or plan a healing process. It feels like a passing conversation that is poorly jotted down. There's seldom any support or facts other than the quick reference to her mother's (Dolores Cannon) work. I am not saying the book does not have good information, it does, but for the purposes of healing it needs, bare minimum, to be at least 3-4 times longer to be really useful. I am just disappointed.

A Mix of Medicine, Metaphysical, and Science - Intriguing Read

Soul Speak: The Language of Your Body is a metaphysical book that is bound to intrigue both people of science and medicine as well as people looking to connect with their own higher power.

The book is very well organized and could even be used as a teaching tool. The author has a background and education in the medical field and her logic, presentation and material reflect that.

She talks about "Body Part Messages" and addresses different parts and systems of the body. There are diagrams and pictures included.

The book is condensed into about 150 pages which includes the pictures, but though you have that concentration of information, the author is able to hold your interest as you learn. That is a skill I can appreciate.

If you are interested in medicine, metaphysical teachings or interested to learn more about how your body can speak to you then I recommend checking out this book.

If Only We Had the Right Information

Do you have loved ones who are in and out of the drugstores with armful of prescription (or over-the-counter) drugs but don't get better with their illnesses, dis-eases?
After I started reading Julia Cannon's book, Soul Speak - The Language of Our Body, I have been sharing it with people I know. Everyone deserves to be healed - if only they had the *right* information.

If only Walgreens, CVS, Longs sold this amazing book by Julia Cannon,and more people would be reading it, the healthcare discussion at the Capitol Hills would be much different (or would it not)? Regardless of what the external environment, for those who wish to manage and maintain their own health themselves, "Soul Speak" offers the essential information for people to explore and get on the way to healing.

A nurse who left her day job following a calling, Julia Cannon has designated each chapter to different bodily systems and the true, holistic (rather than the physiological) causes of the illnesses in each system.

Genuinely a Masterpiece on Project Management and GTD!

Let me start by saying that if I were to choose ONLY two books to get my job done or do a better job as a PM then the two books I'd hold onto would be the PMBOK and Susan's Project Management Coaching Workbook. If PMBOK is the theoretical framework, then Susanne's book is the Real World Application..this is where the rubber hits the road.

I learnt about the book from Cornelius's PM Podcasts, heard the writer discuss the book, did a bit more research and eventually bought the kindle version, its pretty decently priced at around $30.

I started reading and then the lightening struck!, I realized that it's a CLASSIC, this is by far the most well written book I have read not only on the subject of Project Management but also from a Get Things Done perspective as well. The way she explains and assists with the GTD approach is incredible, I wish that this information would be available for all searching for help on GTD.

To me, its written very very well, the structured, logical approach to GTD and PM, the clarity, frankness, directness is amazing. I think the writer not only has excelled from a Subject Matter perspective but where she's truly great is that she manages the reader at psychological/emotional level as well. She's upfront about the issues, embraces the challenges BUT keeps the morale high by putting things into perspective, and continues to move forward with the plan to directly challenge and resolve the issue.

In the podcast, Cornelius suggested a paper copy, I went with the kindle version due to unavailability of the print version and better price of the soft copy. As its a workbook, you are to actively work with it, therefore I'm finding the kindle version to be very useful, as it allows me to copy/paste to my own doc and highlighting etc is very convenient too.

In short, unless you are a Super PM already, get the book, its like having a Super PM by your side 24/7 to help you become a Good Solid PM yourself.
Also the writer has an active website and can also be followed on Twitter for those who are really serious about the topic.

A True Masterpiece - for coaching yourself in Project Management!

“The Project Management Coaching Workbook – Six Steps to Unleashing Your Potential” is a true masterpiece. Any new PM should be able to use this to coach themselves by following the steps Susanne has laid out here. It is very rare that a book can inspire so much and lead someone to become an excellent PM. It is almost as if Susanne is in the book and coaching in person. Also as a true coach, she encourages the reader to take ownership, identify the gaps and address it themselves. Her frankness and practical approach is truly amazing. I recommend this book to any one in PM Community (new or even experienced) who want to be successful as a Project Manager!

Outstanding practical advice for Project Management

I picked up this book when I was studying for a formal PM industry qualification recently, and read it in parallel. It proved an excellent counterpoint, as the style is lively and invigorating. Even though I have some years experience in projects, it's full of very good hints and tips that I had not encountered before. But most of all, it is strangely up-lifting: although she covers the many important functional aspects, the author has focused on what it is to be a project manager, the stresses & anxieties and the personal challenges we all face. Her message is loud and clear: believe in yourself, persevere and you will succeed. Excellent and highly recommended.

and I like to give it time to sit with me

I received a free review copy of this book from the publisher.

This is a poetry collection about not being okay, and about dealing with that until you can recover. It’s about being human and loving others and loving yourself. It’s about sadness and hope.

I don’t tend to read poetry quickly. It’s something I’m unused to, compared to novels, and I like to give it time to sit with me. I like to make sure I’m understanding and taking it all in, and it’s common for me to read only a few pages at a time. But there was something about this collection that I couldn’t let go of. It was captivating and hard to put down and I read it in two sittings.

That’s not to say that I didn’t absorb this the way I usually like to, because I read the majority of these poems three times over before continuing to the next. I got lost in them, I wanted to remember them, they all felt so touching and true. I sometimes had a hard time flipping the page, moving onto the next set of words, because I wanted to live in this one poem forever. And then I was amazed when it happened again on the next page, and a few pages after that, and the next after that.

This has become a new favorite of mine, and I know for a fact I’ll be rereading it, probably multiple times. Whereas I usually highlight a few lines while reading poetry, I’m kind of glad that this ebook format didn’t allow for it, because I found entire poems that I would have highlighted-my highlights probably would have covered most of the book.

A Beautiful Read

What a wonderful collection of poems! I was very lucky to get a copy of this book from the publishers in exchange for a review. I had seen the the collection going around twitter and was hoping to get a copy eventually. Then this opportunity came along and after being able to read it I want to buy a copy more than ever.

Howling at the Moon is not a long collection, just over a 100 pages. It's filled with lines like "Love is the way your body fights to keep you alive / Day after day." or like this:

"There’s this ache in my chest
that I keep trying to write,
but there are some things that just
cannot be put into words.
The moonlight, for example.
Or the way the birds sound
when you wake up in the
morning despite thinking
the past night would
be your last."

Darshana's poetry is achingly beautiful, full of every emotion imaginable. It's sometimes soft, and sometimes hard. It's everything you could want in a poetry book. It's inspiring. I read the entire collection in one day, but I've been going back to it every day since to read snippets here and there. I'm in love with it and I think you will be too. Go buy it, read it and consider reviewing it.

About the Author
Laura Pincus Hartman is Vincent de Paul Professor of Business Ethics at DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business and serves as Special Assistant to the University's President with a focus on Haiti. Hartman helped to establish and now chairs the Board of a trilingual elementary school in Haiti, the School of Choice / l'Ecole de Choix. Previously, Hartman was Director of External Partnerships for Zynga.Org, through which Zynga players have contributed more than $14 million toward the both domestic and international social causes. Hartman's work, integrated throughout these endeavors, demonstrates the potential for innovative and profitable partnerships to alleviate poverty while providing measurable value to all stakeholders involved.

Joe DesJardins is Professor in the philosophy department formed jointly by the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University in Minnesota. He presently serves as the Executive Director of the Society for Business Ethics. Among his publications are: An Introduction to Business Ethics (McGraw Hill), Environmental Ethics: An Introduction to Environmental Philosophy (Wadsworth), of Contemporary Issues in Business Ethics, co-editor, with John McCall, (5th Ed, Wadsworth) , and the forthcoming Business, Ethics, and Sustainability: Ethics for the Next Industrial Revolution (Prentice Hall). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame and taught for many years at Villanova University before moving to Minnesota.

This reads more like a novel than a textbook

This reads more like a novel than a textbook. Usually at the end of a chapter there is a summary of key terms and what you should have learned from the reading. This book does not have that. The term "Ethics" is like every other word in the book so by the time your done reading the chapter (s), you understand ethics, but not really what the classroom instructors want you to gather from said material. The chapters are endless too. (60-100) pages which makes it more confusing than able to learn from. It is a good book for reading, but not as a textbook.

So far, the book is great. I have been working with Win 2012 R2 for months, but this book helped me in some new topics.

Now, for the people who bought the Kindle Edition on Amazon and can't find the online media. Let me give you a step by step directions.

You have to go to the section "Free Interactive Online Study Enviroment" on your book. You will see a link to http://sybex.com/go/mcsawin2012r2. There, select this book, MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2 Complete Study Guide: Exams 70-410, 70-411, 70-412, and 70-41. Click Login, then "GET ACCESS CODE".
Then on "SELECT YOUR PRODUCT", again, select MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2 Complete Study Guide: Exams 70-410, 70-411, 70-412, and 70-41, type you name, email address, and answer the question ABOUT the book. A book you can actually cook with

A really well-researched book with recipes I will actually make. THE HOBBIT is a favorite of mine and I'm always worried when people try to make a buck off of a trend or something well-loved. The author clearly knows her stuff. It's not just food with Bilbo's name slapped on it. This is a historically-accurate book, with food you can still easily cook, that connects the food and appreciation for food in THE HOBBIT to Tolkien's own experiences growing up on rations. It's an amazing concept. The photos are stunning. The food is very comfort-driven. She also offers alternatives for gluten-free folks, vegans, and others with food preferences. Love it!

I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Tolkien

Usually when I get a cookbook I just skim through the recipes, but when An Unexpected Cookbook came in the mail I sat down and read through every recipe step by step. Not only am I excited to make some delicious Hobbit inspired meals from these recipes, but I also learned a whole lot about Victorian-era food and cooking, and what types of things Tolkien would have eaten throughout his life. There's a lot of personality and humor mixed in throughout the steps of the recipes, which makes them more entertaining to read than any cookbook I've encountered before. The suggestions for how to reuse leftovers in other recipes is also a plus. This is a really cute and engrossing cookbook! I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Tolkien!

Aside from being well researched and filled with great content, the book is just down right pretty. The photographs are amazing! I find myself reading it like I would a novel! There is an amazing attention to detail in the historical content. It holds true to Tolkien's vision.
