Good Handbook in Fluid Power Design, but the Book Printing Quality is very Poor

This is a good reference book in hydraulics and pneumatics design for the intermediate level. However, the book have apparent weaknesses in hydraulics and pneumatic circuits control, and in circuits simulation which is very essential for any design from concept to detailing.
The topics in the application of hydraulics and pneumatics to aerospace industry is poorly written, and needs specialist intensive review because of the importance of these system in many flight vehicles even with the latest development of the all electric aircraft in Boing787
I give it four stars for the design materials, and zero for the printing quality, which I believe all the buyers of this book should be adequately compensated and a new good printed copy should be resend to them at the earliest possible opportunity....

I read this book several times; It is a different book and the more I read sections of it, the more I like, and appreciate it. It has a different approach in many of the hydraulics case studies, for example: in evaluating flow through orifices/local resistance to flow, or has good formulas to calculate internal leakage in a spool valve when the spool is centered, or in the case it is eccentric. The book has some interesting comments on cavitation.
It is useful for a beginner to mid career engineer trying to stretch their wings and fly solo; it is a wise/reference type book for an experienced engineer.
Once you read this book, and Herbert Merritt's book on "Hydraulic Control Systems", you get a different, deeper understanding of hydraulics.
I recommend Frank Yeaple's "Fluid Power Design Handbook".

Good info, poor print quality

The book contains relatively good information (would have liked more in depth theory), but the print quality is terrible-- certainly not anywhere near my other $100+ reference and text books. It is almost as if they scanned the original pages into a low-resolution pdf file then re-printed it, background noise and all. It is so grainy on some pages that it is very difficult to read the example charts. Quite disappointing.
